While we don't want to steal anyone's thunder, it was particularly nice to see Thurne View in the background (and via drone!) of Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse' boat related bickering during the most recent series of Gone Fishing on BBC 2. They were spending the night at Bond Island Windmill during the filming of their Norfolk Broads fishing adventure. The mill is part of the scenery directly across from Thurne View if you happen to be thoughtfully looking out across the river...
Thurne View was closed for its refurbishments at the time (June 2021) and I was greatly relieved to see all the major work had been completed at the point they sailed past. The thought of the cottage in disarray with its bins and scrap wood all over the lawn preserved in perpetuity as part of the BBC archives filled me with horror.
