Changes to how flooding and drainage are managed on the riverbank mean the path to the cottage can flood year round, especially after heavy rain or exceptionally high tides in spring and autumn. It is possible to walk along the bank to avoid the path and step from the flood wall to the wooden steps, but with either route, suitable footwear is recommended.

While a torch is provided in the cottage, you might find it useful to bring one with you if arriving after dark.

Water levels can be checked HERE. The path behind the cottage begins to flood when the gauge reaches 0.6m.
Thurne View is NOT suitable for very young children due to the unfenced river frontage and children should be supervised at all times.
